Milk frothing jugs

Milk frothing jugs come in all colours, sizes and designs. From the cheap basics to the trendsetting alternatives we can get whatever you want to help with your coffee service. Thanks to the rise of Instagram, latte art is becoming more and more important. Never before has the visual aspect of coffee been so important. In order to create the best possible latte art, there are several considerations you need to make when choosing your milk frothing jug.

  • Size: It is important to select a milk jug that can meet the order demands of your venue. If you are constantly pouring coffees all day then a larger milk jug is going to be needed. One consideration to make is that free-pouring latte art is easier from a smaller 400mL jug. To get around this issue many cafes often heat their milk in a larger capacity jug and then transfer it to a smaller milk jug for pouring.
  • Jug Thickness: The thickness of your milk jug plays a pivotal role in the stretching process when frothing milk. A thicker walled jug will absorb some of the heat and allow a barista to spend longer stretching the milk without fear of burning it. Although a thicker jug may take slightly longer to heat the milk to the desired temperature, it will allow for a more consistent milk froth.
  • Spout Shape: There are generally two different spout shapes on milk jugs. Narrow and pointy or wide and rounded. There is no hard and fast rule as to which one is better and the choice usually comes down to personal preference. Great latte art can be created using both styles of milk jug spout.
